The brainstorm web is the think tank of the Imachination project. It reflects the concept of imachination and its origin. But it explores also the theoretical implications or practical applications almost in a scientific context.

First of all the brainstorm web is the artists note book, so it is a collection of ideas and references which doesn’t claim to be complete. But it becomes quite evident that this think tank is also the construction kit linking to further projects.

Here some basic concepts:

imachination: The imachinations throw light on the relationship between machine and the human imagination (new visualisation methods e.g. in astronomy, particle physics or genomics).

complexity: Just the overlay of two simple structures may result very complex. This is a model for other processes like social and cultural interaction or just the dynamics on a water surface.

information: The imachinations explore the nature of information. Are the daily appearing images the core of that, what we call information or just the algorithmic function of Pi?

network: The existence of the Imachinations is divided in its immaterial coded web based form and its material concretion and appearance on various places. The presentation places of the Imachinations not only get the picture via the internet, they are also connected by the medium and build up an "imachination community" (information sharing).

delocalisation/globalisation: The imachinations bring together different places and contexts.

motionpicture/deceleration: The imachination function like a very decelerated motion picture showing only one frame per day. In that way the Imachinations extend a clip of about 4 seconds to 100 days. So the Imachinations refer to the age, when the pictures learnt to move.

emptiness: The Imachinations can't be interpreted as signs or symbols. Above all, the scales do not allow to define a foreground and background. Providing a symbol free space the Imachination can be placed near by neon signs or jumbotrons used for publicity.

pi: Pi has a long history of development. So the project can follow this traces of development by historical places, where  Pi scientists lived and worked.

art: The immaterial appearance and the formal composition of the Imachinations show parallels to different art positions.
